2027 Tuition at TVRC
We recognize that camp is a significant investment for each family, and we are grateful for a community that values the growth and adventure TVRC provides.
Tuition for the 2027 season is $9,250 per camper for a 30-day session. This is our published rate and the standard way to enroll. It requires no additional application or explanation.
Tuition has never covered the full cost of a TVRC summer. It covers roughly 80%. Delivering our western adventure experience costs approximately $12,000 per camper. The remaining 20% has always been carried by philanthropy: the Annual Fund, the Scholarship Endowment, and the Endowment built by the generations who came before us. Beginning with the 2027 season, we are sharing this math openly.
An optional gift at enrollment
Families who wish to support TVRC beyond tuition may add a gift to the Annual Fund at the time they enroll:
Shared Cost Gift, add $1,375. Roughly half the gap between tuition and the full cost of a camper’s summer.
True Cost Gift, add $2,750. The full gap.
You are welcome to give any other amount, or none at all.
A gift is entirely optional. It has no bearing on enrollment, placement, or your camper’s experience, and every camper receives the same TVRC session. Tuition itself is not tax deductible. Gifts above tuition are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law, as no goods or services are provided in exchange. Gifts are non-refundable, including if a camper withdraws or is unable to attend. Every contributing family receives a written acknowledgment.
Need-based financial aid is available to any family for whom tuition feels out of reach. It is an individualized process that begins with a financial aid application and it has not changed from previous years.

Tuition covers the full 30-day session: round-trip transportation between the Jackson Hole Airport and camp, all meals and lodging, every activity along with the coaching and instruction that comes with it, transportation for activities and backcountry trips, and infirmary services. Families are responsible for travel to and from Jackson and any late arrival or early departure shuttles, personal clothing and equipment, Trading Post funds, a fishing license (14 and older), and any outside medical costs including medical visits or prescriptions.
Tuition covers the complete TVRC experience. Optional gifts made at enrollment do not add to it in any way. Every camper does the same program, rides the same horses, and goes on the same trips.
No. Tuition is $9,250, and that is the full and complete price of a TVRC season. Enrolling at tuition requires nothing further from you and no explanation. Gifts are entirely voluntary. Nothing about your camper’s summer depends on whether you make one, including enrollment, cabin placement, adventure group, or trip assignment.
Gifts are handled the way any contribution to TVRC is handled. Our business office and development staff record them so we can send your acknowledgment letter and keep accurate records. Gifts are never shared with program staff, cabin counselors, wranglers, or trip leaders, and they have no effect on your camper’s summer.
TVRC Education Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Tuition is the published price of a TVRC session and is not deductible. Gifts made in addition to tuition are charitable contributions and are deductible to the extent allowed by law. No goods or services are provided in exchange for a gift.
We will send a written acknowledgment showing the amount of your gift and the date we received it. A gift is generally deductible in the tax year you make it, which may be different from the summer your camper attends. Whether and how much you can deduct depends on your own tax situation, so please check with your tax advisor.
Tuition has never covered the full cost of a TVRC summer. It covers roughly 80%. For most of our 88 years, the rest has come from philanthropy: alumni, current and former families, friends of the Ranch, and an endowment built by the generations before us.
Beginning with the 2027 season we are simply showing that math openly rather than leaving it in the background. Enrollment is a natural moment to invite families who are able and interested to be part of the philanthropy that has always sustained camp.
Gifts are voluntary. Every camper has the same summer either way.
Yes and Thank you! Gifts of any size support TVRC. Please explore our Ways to Give or contact .
Tuition follows our standard refund policy, which is spelled out in the Terms and Conditions. Gifts are charitable contributions to TVRC Education Foundation, Inc. and are not refundable. That is true of charitable gifts generally, and it is why a gift is deductible.
If your plans are uncertain, you are welcome to enroll at tuition and make your gift later in the year. Contact Haley Preston for additional questions.
Need-based financial aid is available to any family for whom tuition is out of reach. It is a confidential, individualized process that begins with a financial aid application that must be completed by February 15. It is separate from the gift options described above and has not changed from previous years. Reach out to for information on the process and relevant dates.
Financial Aid at TVRC
TVRC offers a need-based Financial Aid Program. The financial aid application opens on October 1 and must be completed by February 15 for the upcoming summer season.
