TRAILBLAZERS

The Trailblazers are the oldest Adventure Group, and spend half of the session on the trail with their counselors, leading their own trips. When in-camp, campers learn and execute route finding, meal planning and packing, gear preparation, and logistics coordination. On the trail, Trailblazers work together to execute their trip. Through this direct experience with leadership and teamwork, campers deepen their sense of independence, gratitude for others, and increase awareness for the time, work, and effort it takes to implement a vision.

Trailblazers are typically fourth or fifth year campers, and are 15 - 16 years old. This program builds off of the prior connections, relationships, and adventures the campers experienced together, while celebrating the individuals and group they have become. The Trailblazer summer perfectly encapsulates the TVRC experience, as many campers choose to pursue wilderness discovery adventures post-camp. Needless to say, the Trailblazer program leaves its mark, and prepares campers to take-on future challenges.
